Sign Language Level 3: Skills & Education Group Awards

  • Overview of the course

    Successful completion of this qualification can be used as evidence of the language skills needed in order to be able to operate independently and at an advanced level in the target language. It is useful for those who work on a regular basis with Deaf people (for example social workers, teachers of the Deaf, communicators, voluntary workers, workers within Deaf organisations, schools, etc), those who aspire to work in these contexts, and those who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in British Sign Language.

    Learners will develop their knowledge and skills in BSL Linguistics and Grammar
  • Entry requirements

    You need to have completed ABC Level 2 or Signature Level 2 Sign Language course to progress to Skills & Education Group Awards Level 3.
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed using a 3-unit structure which will you by allowing you to gain the qualification in `bite-sized’ chunks.
  • Is there anything else I need to know?

    Enrichment will be part of the course such as seeing and interpreter at the theatre, a visit to the Deaf club for Sing and Sign, visits from Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and Music and the Deaf.

    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.
