The College’s Motor Vehicle Employer Academy is supported by the Group and thanks to this partnership, the College was recently chosen to receive a considerable amount of brand-new Toyota car parts – a donation orchestrated by the RRG Group.
The College will now act as a distribution hub, with colleges from across the North West collecting the parts for training purposes. The College also received parts for their own students to study and work on.
Stephen Perry, Group Recruitment Specialist at the RRG Group, used his connections between Toyota and the College to broker the donation, which includes engines, gear boxes, catalytic convertors and DPF sensors.
Each car part is brand new and sourced from new project development car stock, elements linked to Toyota’s investment in pioneering hydrogen-powered vehicles.
The RRG Group are one of the biggest and most successful car dealership groups in the North, with 21 centres in the North West and West Yorkshire, representing Toyota, Lexus, Mazda, Peugeot, ŠKODA, Nissan, Kia and MG.
The partnership between the RRG Group and 91ߣɫ also gives its students access to high-quality work placements and career opportunities at the group, whilst each of the College’s new motor vehicle students can expect to receive a free branded overall from the RRG Group for use in the College’s motor vehicle workshops.
Stephen Perry said: “It’s been a pleasure to work in collaboration with Toyota GB, TMUK and 91ߣɫ to bring together the tools to equip future generations of talented technicians within our Industry.
“Our partnership can only go from strength to strength and here at the RRG Group together with the Senior Management Team, our connections are invaluable.”
Kath Chamberlain, Senior Manager New Product Development, said: “At TMUK, we’re committed to both reducing our impact on the environment and enabling education and development, so are delighted that we could support 91ߣɫ in this way.”
Peter Alstead, Head of Engineering & Motor Vehicle at 91ߣɫ, added: “Yet again, the RRG Group have offered us a fantastic opportunity, giving us and motor vehicle students across Greater Manchester access to high-quality resources and equipment.
“I am very grateful to Toyota for their extremely generous donation and to Stephen, for the huge amount of time and effort he made to make this happen. Motor vehicle students across the region will benefit from this greatly.
“Toyota and the RRG Group deserve recognition for their commitment to ensuring the next generation of motor vehicle professionals learn using a selection of both premium and standard parts, giving them the skills they need for a range of successful careers in the sector.”
